Washington County Schools are in the final stretch of completing $3.4 million stadium renovations at both David Crockett and Daniel Boone high schools before the upcoming football season. The project includes replacing old concrete stands with ADA-compliant metal stands, as well as new bathrooms and concessions. Director of Schools Jerry Boyd is confident that everything is on track and will be completed in time for the first home games in August.
Crockett’s first home game is scheduled for August 23, with Boyd stating that the priority is ensuring a safe environment for spectators, even if some accommodations need to be made. Meanwhile, Daniel Boone has a bit more time before its first home varsity football game on September 13.
The annual Musket Bowl, a highly anticipated rivalry game between the two schools, will be held at Crockett on September 6. Boyd reassures fans that the project will be completed in time for the game, as it is a big focus for the community.
As the clock ticks down to the start of the football season, Washington County Schools is working diligently to ensure that the stadium renovations are completed to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for fans. The excitement of the upcoming season, including the Musket Bowl, is building as the schools prepare for the first games in their newly renovated stadiums.
